How to regrow hair naturally for men?
July 13, 2021How Can Men Naturally Regrow Hair?
Research shows that hair loss is the most prevalent concern regarding hair care for both genders. However, due to a heightened production of the hormone dihydrotestosterone, men experience significantly more hair loss compared to women.
Numerous sources assert that stimulating new hair growth on the scalp is impossible. Nevertheless, recent studies indicate that a well-rounded diet, combined with gentle hair care products and strategies to manage stress, not only minimizes hair loss but also promotes the growth of healthy hair.
Phases of Hair Growth in Men
The hair follicle is the fundamental structure from which hair emerges. The growth of hair follicles follows a cyclical pattern, which is categorized into four distinct phases:
- Anagen (Growth Phase) -
During the anagen phase, three key processes occur. First, the hair follicle begins to develop its characteristic bulbous shape resembling an onion. Second, the follicle starts generating hair fibers. Third, the cells at the hair's root undergo rapid division to create the hair shaft. At any moment, approximately 90% of our hair is in the growth phase, which can last anywhere from 2 to 6 years.
- Catagen (Transition Phase) -
The catagen phase signifies the conclusion of the anagen phase. At this point, hair begins to detach from its primary blood supply and starts forming club hair, or fully keratinized hair. This phase typically lasts around 2 to 3 weeks, with about 1% to 5% of our hair in the catagen phase at any given time.
- Telogen (Rest Phase) -
In the resting phase of the hair cycle, club hair is completely formed, and the follicle enters a dormant state. At any time, around 10% to 15% of our hair is in the telogen phase, which can persist for several months or even up to a year.
- Exogen (Shedding Phase) -
Following the resting phase, older hair exits its follicle and falls out. The entire cycle recommences, leading to the growth of a new, healthy hair strand. This shedding and regrowth process is entirely natural.
How to Naturally Enhance Hair Growth?
Incorporate Organic Peppermint Oil -
A study suggests that a mixture of peppermint oil and jojoba oil aids in enhancing blood circulation on the scalp, fostering new hair growth and increasing the number of hair follicles present. Menthol, a key component in peppermint essential oil, also alleviates scalp irritation, diminishes dandruff, and helps prevent hair loss.
In a clean, dry bowl, combine your preferred Juicy Chemistry carrier oil or cold-pressed jojoba oil with a few drops of organic peppermint essential oil, mixing thoroughly. Use this blend as a stimulating massage oil for your scalp and hair.
Note - Conduct a patch test of the prepared hair oil on your hairline to check for any sensitivity or irritation.
Utilize Raw Onion Juice -
In a recent study, raw onion juice was applied in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia, or common baldness, in 45 participants, with 87% showing complete hair regrowth within 8 weeks of consistent application. The study concluded that the sulfur content and phenolic compounds in onion juice stimulate hair regrowth and help prevent hair loss.
Take a fresh onion bulb and extract its pulp by grinding or grating it. Use a muslin cloth to squeeze the pulp and obtain the juice. Combine one part of fresh onion juice with three parts of our cold-pressed castor oil. You may add a few drops of organic lemon essential oil to this mixture to enhance scalp stimulation and mask the onion juice's odor. Apply this concoction to massage your scalp and fortify your hair roots a few hours before shampooing.
Note - Conduct a patch test of the prepared mixture on your hairline to check for any sensitivity or irritation.
4 Holistic Tips for Hair Growth
Maintain a Balanced Diet -
Research indicates that a diet abundant in vitamins A, B, C, D, and E, along with iron, selenium, and zinc, is crucial for the development of hair follicles, reduces the risk of androgenetic alopecia or common baldness in both men and women, and encourages hair regrowth.
Opt for Mild Hair Care Products -
Utilizing gentle hair care products enriched with antioxidants helps to combat oxidative stress and promote hair regrowth. A mild shampoo formulated with plant oils and natural surfactants can prevent hair thinning over time while keeping your hair nourished and robust.
Stimulate the Scalp -
Studies reveal that scalp massages can alleviate stress. Massage your scalp once or twice weekly with an organic hair growth oil to relieve stress and enhance blood circulation to the scalp.
Practice Gentle Hair Care -
Prefer to air-dry your hair naturally rather than using a blow dryer. Limit frequent combing and washing of your hair. Handle your hair with care.
Simple Hair Care Routine for Promoting Hair Growth
Step 1: Scalp Treatment
A scalp serum is designed with active ingredients to encourage hair regrowth. Apply some natural scalp stimulating serum to your palm and gently massage it into your scalp. Allow it to absorb.
Step 2: Oiling
Juicy Chemistry hair oils and hair masks are crafted with plant extracts like amla, bhringraj, rosemary, and peppermint to nourish your scalp, strengthen your hair, and prevent hair loss.
Dispense some pumps of a natural hair oil or nourishing hair mask into your palm and apply it to your scalp. Massage for a few minutes to enhance blood circulation. Let it absorb into your hair for at least 30 minutes or overnight for optimal results.
Step 3: Shampooing
Use a mild, natural shampoo on your scalp and hair for gentle cleansing. Take 1-2 pumps of your chosen shampoo and massage it into damp hair and scalp. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Repeat this process if necessary.
Step 4: Conditioning
Apply a natural conditioner to the ends of damp hair to prevent dryness and promote soft, shiny hair. Gently squeeze out excess water from your hair before applying the conditioner to avoid it dripping onto your skin. Allow your hair to absorb the conditioner before rinsing it out with room temperature water. Finally, gently pat your hair dry with a towel or soft t-shirt.
Step 5: Serum Application
Apply a few drops of a natural hair serum, leave-in conditioner, or cold-pressed oil to the ends of your hair to keep them moisturized and free from frizz.
