We didn't set out to build a brand. We set out to be honest. The brand came after.
Twelve years. A kitchen table, a farmers market, nine countries on the sourcing map, and India's first Ecocert COSMOS Certified Organic skincare brand.

Where it began
A label.
A kitchen.
A decision.
There was no launch strategy.
No investor deck.
No brand brief handed to an agency.
There was Megha, navigating PCOD for years, moving through dermatologists, trying every product the market called natural and finding, label after label, that none of them were.
There was Pritesh, who had grown up in a petroleum manufacturing family. Who recognised exactly what those 'organic' labels were hiding. He could not unsee it.
And there was a kitchen in Coimbatore, ₹5,000, and a single, unambiguous decision: make something they could actually stand behind.
Not a product range. Not a brand identity. Just something honest.
The first product was a salt and sugar scrub.
Then a hair oil. Made by hand.
Nothing in them that didn't earn its place.
Standing at a stall, holding a butter that had softened in the heat, and explaining why that was the point.
Why the butter had melted? Because there were no hardening agents. Why the ingredient list was short? Because discipline, not cost-cutting. Why an anhydrous formula behaves differently on skin? Why none of this was a flaw?
Those conversations were hard to have. They required patience. They required the person across the table to actually listen. But they were honest. And honesty turned out to be something people were hungry for.

Coimbatore: First batch, first customers, first conversations.
Juicy Chemistry grew the way things grow when they are real, slowly, then all at once. Not from a campaign. Because people who had found something true told other people about it.

We wanted to build something Indian that the world would recognise.
Juicy Chemistry was not built to be an Indian version of a Western clean beauty brand. It was built to be Indian, formulated in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, made for skin that lives in Indian heat and humidity, rooted in a country that has been the source of the world's most extraordinary botanicals for centuries.
India has always grown the best turmeric. The richest oils. The most complex spices. What we had not done, until Juicy Chemistry was hold those ingredients to a standard rigorous enough to carry a global certification.
We wanted to build something the world would recognise not because it looked like something from somewhere else but because it was better. That ambition has not changed.

The audit that earns the word
When the industry used 'organic' as decoration, we got audited.
In 2017, Juicy Chemistry became the first Indian brand to achieve full COSMOS certification by Ecocert France under the COSMOS V3 standard, covering not just products, but the manufacturing facility itself.
An independent body examines our sourcing, farming practices, manufacturing processes, and formulations. Every year. Without exception. The certificate does not carry over.
We do not use the word organic lightly. We do not use it at all unless Ecocert says we can. Certification is not a logo. It is an annual audit of intent.
Twelve years

2014
A kitchen. A scrub. A hair oil.
₹5,000. No manufacturing unit. No brand agency. Two people who had found something dishonest in the market and decided to do the opposite.
2015
The first website. The first strangers.
juicychemistry.com goes live. India's first brand to list every ingredient, with quantities, on the label. Farmers market conversations become the education strategy.
2017
In-house. Always.
Manufacturing facility established. Ecocert certifies the facility itself, not just the products. India's First Ecocert COSMOS V3 certification follows.
2020
COVID. Sanitisers. And a deeper audience.
Manufacturing pivoted to sanitisers to keep the team employed. Ingredient education on Instagram deepened. The audience that would carry the next decade was being built.
2025
The biotech chapter opens.
Juicy Actives 2.0 launches. Advanced biotechnology, organic compliance, and biocompatible actives. Certified organic beauty that delivers clinical-grade results. The promise, taken further.
Pritesh Asher
Pritesh leads formulation, R&D, and ingredient sourcing. Before Juicy Chemistry, he ran a petrochemicals business, which gave him both the technical literacy to read a dishonest label and the knowledge to build a better one. He visits the manufacturing facility daily. Every formulation goes through him before it goes anywhere else. He is also a perfectionist, which is less a personality trait and more a formulation requirement.
Megha Asher
Megha has been the conscience of Juicy Chemistry from the beginning, the person who asks whether a claim is true before it becomes a claim. She came to organic skincare through personal necessity: PCOD, sensitive skin, and a decade of products that did not work. With a background in criminology, journalism, and fashion, and early career experience as Features Editor at the Times of India, she brings a distinctive rigour to the often-overclaimed world of organic beauty. She leads operations, brand integrity, and the consumer relationship that has always been the brand's north star.
