What does the no-nasty promise at Juicy Chemistry mean?

Glad you asked! The no-nasty promise is a guarantee to our customers that Juicy Chemistry’s products do not contain and will never contain any petroleum-based chemicals such as mineral oil, and paraffin which are otherwise predominantly present in popular cosmetic products. We also do not use any chemical emulsifiers, artificial colours, stabilisers, animal fats, urea, or synthetic fragrances. Our prod-ucts are preservative free and do not contain any parabens or phthalates.

Why is the shelf life so short?



Most skin care products are manufactured to have shelf life of 2-3 years. But, how can active skin care ingredients be effective after years? Research has proven that even the finest ingredients can degrade over a period of time. To keep a product “fresh” for years would require loads of preservatives. As we do not use any preservative, the effective shelf life of our products is around six months. To ensure freshness, we hand-make our products in smaller quantities ensuring that you always receive the newest batch!

Will the products suit my skin?

All of our ingredients are transparently listed on our product packaging. If you think you may be allergic to something, please talk to us before you buy the product. We also recommend a patch test before using the product. Opt for our paid samples, which you can use before buying a bigger size to test for allergies.

How do I do a patch test?

A patch test is super easy to do! Use our wee spoon and take a small sample of the product and apply it on the inside of your elbow, wrist, or at the back of your earlobe, wait for 12- 24 hours. If you notice any irritation or redness, do not use it further. However, if you do not have a reaction, you can continue use of the product.

How long before I see results?

Our products are designed to enhance the basic well-being of your skin. As our products are not meant to be used as a treatment or an alternative to medication, individual results may vary. Regular use of the product will ensure a beautiful and healthier skin.

How often should I use the products?

Certain products are for daily use, and some are meant to be used weekly. Please look at the product usage section on the label for more information!

My product seems to have changed in consistency - has it gone bad?

If the product is still within its best-before date, it is fine for use. As our products do not contain any stabilisers, it is likely to change consistency with temperature changes. However, please ensure the products are kept in a cool dry place, away from water. Keeping the product away from water is imperative as they have no preservatives, and are prone to fungal growth.

My product seems to have melted and I received it in that condition. What do I do?

Sometimes, inspite of our scrupulous packaging, the oils in our products melt due to rise in temperatures. Merely place the product in the refrigerator for a few minutes. This may affect the consistency of the product but not its efficacy.

My sugar scrub has leaked oils?

Please refrigerate the product and the oils will thicken. This sometimes happens when temperatures get too hot during transit.

Why is there a wooden spoon in my parcel?

Our wee wooden spoon is special! As an extra precaution to reduce contamination, we provide this spoon as our fingers sometimes contain impurities which can be transferred to the product. It also prevents the entry of moisture into the product.

Why is there a brush like thing in some of my parcels?

This is our treat to you! A natural loofah helps to remove dirt and impurities from the surface of the skin. It also helps improve blood circulation. Once you have applied the scrub/soap on your body, dampen the loofah and gently rub in circular motion for best results.
